Great information! Thank you for putting this up here!
For years, I salivated over the Canon XL1. In my mind, light came down from heaven to shine on it while the angels sang. Never got it, but it was very exciting for me when I started working at WILL and got to use pro cameras, instead of prosumer. I still would love to have this little baby, though.
Side note--the only episode of Dawson's Creek I ever saw featured a camera I'm pretty sure was a Canon XL1 (or a camera very similar). It made me so mad at the time to think that some high school kid could have a camera so nice. Damn rich kids! : )

I love both Spike Lee and the Coen Brothers. I love Spike Lee's approach to tough topics, and I very much love the look of Coen Brothers' movies.

Great clips! Thank you for sharing them!
There was actually a study done on the effects of audio quality on audiences. First, they had an audience watch a movie. Then, they had the audience watch the same movie, with better sound. When they asked the audience members what, if anything, had changed, everyone said the picture was better the second viewing. People knew the movie was better, but they perceived it as a visual improvement, which is interesting)
(sorry, I don't remember who did the study. It's on the tip of my brain...I remember it was a college professor who told us about it, and it was an organization he really respected. It had an acroynm name and they hold yearly conferences)

Hey! Nice website! I love this guy, too. I only watched about the first 10 minutes, but it was great stuff. Made me realize, first off, that I am lucky having gone to a small school with mostly very small class sizes (I was only in a classroom this size for a few classes--most of my classes were between 20 and 30, many were less than 15). Secondly, it made me realize that this guy's ideas (and ideas from others like him) can completely transform education, and make formal learning experiences even way better than the overall positive experiences I had. Pretty damn cool! Thanks for sharing it!
